SOLO EXHIBITION, The Nature of Love, Installation

MUU GALLERIA, LÖNNROTINAKTU 33, HELSINKI, FINLAND

OPENING 5 APRIL 5-7 pm

EXHIBITION DATES 5 April-12 May 2019

The Nature of Love is a profound conversation between roots of fallen oak trees, pine stumps, driftwood, poetry and photographs in ancient frames, couched in the form of an installation.

One of the works in the installation is The Mourning Turtle-Dove, inspired by an eponymous book of poems by Swedish writer Hedvig Charlotta Nordenflycht (1718–1763).  Other components in The Nature of Love borrow words from marriage vows about togetherness, in which the fragility of the bond establishes parallels with our inescapable relationship with nature.
